FIRE crews have battled four house fires across the state today, triggering warnings to residents to maintain their air conditioners and electrical equipment.
None of the fires - at Mount Gambier, Renmark, Morphett Vale and Wingfield - have been deemed suspicious by Police or fire cause investigators.
Just after midnight, fire crews attended a blaze at Golflands View, Morphett Vale where a roof space was caught on fire after an air conditioner electrical fault. It took 12 firefighters about 40 minutes to control the fire, which caused about $150,000 damage.
An occupant and neighbour were taken to hospital for treatment of minor smoke inhalation.
Then at about 6.50am, a fire on Wehl St, Mount Gambier and Tarcoola St at Renmark West.
It took 24 firefighters 30 minutes to douse the Mount Gambier fire, which caused no injuries. The Renmark fire was controlled in 40 minutes and caused "extensive" damage to the house.
Finally, fire crews responded to a shed fire at the rear of a Wingfield home about 7.50am. It took them just five minutes to extinguish the blaze, with bystanders helping to stop the fire spreading to neighbouring properties.
The house's occupants and pets were not hurt. The fire caused about $30,000 damage.
